Transformation Thursday....new year, new injections of colour

Once the Christmas decorations came down, I really enjoyed putting decorative accessories back where they belonged in the living room.

I also had a few sale bargains and boxed up pieces to swap in. I do seem to gravitate towards grey and pink in this room! It might be my textile background, which means I have a weakness for mixing and layering prints. 

I'm very pleased with our new crochet foot stool, though it's huge! That'll teach me not to pay attention to dimensions. 

A few new pieces, or just moving things around can easily freshen up a room. I love Achica.com for bargain buys, especially for rugs, cushions and lighting.

Bunnies Cushions at Raindrops On Roses

Our Bunnies cushions have always been one of our most popular designs! I create a lot of these with names or in bespoke colours. This particular batch has just been delivered to Raindrops On Roses, a fabulous boutique in St Albans. All profits go to Herts against Cancer charity, to aid early  detection and raise awareness. They promote local and independent designers, and have a fabulous selection of gifts. A real 'must visit' for Christmas shopping!

Here is a commission I have just finished, for the little boy of some very good friends.

Fabric Nostalgia

A gorgeous cushion made using 'Alice' fabric, by Charles Voysey and sold at Habitat in 1988. I had the duvet cover and pillow in this fabric as a child, and just loved it. In fact I continued to use the pillow well into my teens! My dream was to actually be Alice in Wonderland, and I have re-read the books countless times.

The 'Alice in Wonderland' earthenware tiles were designed by Charles Voysey in 1930 and sold at Christies in 2002. I would love these to surround my (imaginary) aga....

Seeing this cushion makes me want to ring mum and see if my old bedding is still in the linen cupboard, and get that sewing machine out!

Meet some new friends

Here at Lettie Belle HQ we are always busy creating new designs. Here are our latest creations; larger cushions featuring favourite friends! The bunnies are part of a new collection coming soon called 'Mummy & Me' or 'Daddy & Me', featuring a big character and a teeny one.

As with all our cushions, they are made from organic, hand-loomed cotton with eco-fi felt and leather details. Hand stitching finishing completes the look.
