On this date, 7 years ago my Dad passed away after a vicious battle with cancer. I cannot believe it has been this long. It still blows my mind that Scarlett will never meet him. She sees pictures of him all the time, but she will never know first hand what a dry, funny and intelligent man he was. She definitely has his sense of humour, blue eyes, and nose. I have no doubt that they would have been the best of friends.......

I am notoriously bad at sending cards, I buy them but then forget to write/send/give them! I am determined to get better at this, starting with thank you cards for Scarlett's Christmas presents. She drew a picture specific to the person it was for. Subject matter included chickens, fish, scary monsters, a snowman and a pumpkin............

Owl Mania

As you may have noticed, we love owls at LB! I just came across these gorgeous wooden owls on one of my favourite sites The Collection. Created by British designer Matt Pugh, these oak an walnut owls are just so tactile and absolutely timeless. Never mind the nursery, I would love a line of these on a shelf.....

Bucket of crackers, and toddler. Although we took the decorations down yesterday, they have yet to be put away, so Scarlett found all the crackers.........

Bespoke Cushion

Here is a bespoke cushion I created for a client just before Christmas. It was a last minute request, and certainly a challenge! The lion on the front represented the client and the cushion was a special gift for a relative living far away. The back contains a poem in Chinese, this was very difficult but I soon got the hang of it. The cushion is 50cm long, and the Chinese characters took a while!
I was very pleased with how it turned out, and more importantly so was the lovely client! So, I can now also stitch names in Chinese, should anyone need a gift for Chinese New Year later this month..............

New Beginnings - Happy 2012!

Well, it's been a while since my last post! December was filled with shows and creating lots of Christmas orders. I had a much needed break over Christmas as was a touch run down, lovely to spend time with precious family and friends. We began some new traditions, as it's the first year Scarlett has grasped the concept of Christmas......... "Father Christmas, presents, baby Jesus and a big slice of cake....." We ate tons of delicious food, did lots of walking and relaxing - perfect!

I am currently creating my A/W 2012 collection, which is launching at Bubble London, Kids Trade show at the end of Jan! I will posting some sneaky peaks on the blog and more details, so look out. I'm super excited for this year, in both work and personal terms. I'm expecting my second baby, due in June! Scarlett isn't that interested, though she did stick a teether up my skirt in an attempt to pass it to the baby......
